Best Kinnaur Spiti Tour Package 2026 — Travel Himalayas

Travel Himalayas offers fully customised Kinnaur Spiti tour packages 2026 covering the most dramatic landscapes in Himachal Pradesh — Sangla Valley, Chitkul (last village of India, 3,450 m), Sarahan & Bhimakali Temple, Kalpa with views of Kinner Kailash, Nako Lake, Gue Mummy Monastery, Tabo Monastery (Ajanta of the Himalayas), Dhankar Monastery, Kaza, Langza (fossil village), Komic (world's highest village with motorable road), Hikkim (world's highest post office), Key Monastery, Kibber Village, Chicham Bridge (Asia's highest gorge bridge, 13,596 ft) and Chandertaal Lake (4,300 m). Tour packages depart from Chandigarh, Shimla, Delhi or Manali.

We offer both taxi-based Kinnaur Spiti tours (Alto, Sedan, Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Innova Crysta, Tempo Traveller) and Royal Enfield bike tours on fixed departure dates at ₹36,000 per person. All taxi rates include toll tax, parking, state taxes and driver allowances — no hidden charges. The Spiti Valley tour package from Chandigarh takes the scenic Hindustan-Tibet Highway (NH-5 / NH-505), considered one of the most beautiful mountain roads in the world. The Spiti Valley package from Manali enters via the Atal Tunnel, Rohtang Pass and Kunzum Pass — open June to October.

Spiti Valley sits at an average altitude of 12,500 feet (3,800 m) above sea level — a cold desert mountain valley on the Indo-Tibet border. Kinnaur Valley is greener at lower altitudes (2,000–3,500 m), making the Chandigarh–Kinnaur–Spiti–Manali circuit ideal for gradual acclimatization. Our experienced local drivers ensure safe travel on these high-altitude Himalayan roads year-round.

Essential Travel Information — Kinnaur & Spiti Valley 2026

🛣️ Road Opening Dates 2026

Manali–Kaza via Kunzum Pass: Mid-June to mid-October (weather dependent). The Rohtang Pass section requires an online Rohtang Permit (₹550 petrol / ₹700 diesel).

Shimla–Kinnaur–Spiti via NH-5: Open almost year-round. The preferred route for early-season (April–May) and late-season (November) travel. Ideal for gradual acclimatization.

🏔️ Altitude & Acclimatization

Spiti Valley average altitude: 12,500 ft (3,800 m). Kunzum Pass: 14,931 ft. Chicham Bridge: 13,596 ft. Chandertaal Lake: 14,100 ft.

The Chandigarh–Kinnaur–Spiti route allows gradual altitude gain over 3–4 days — far safer than flying into Manali. Drink plenty of water and avoid overexertion on Day 1–2 in Kaza. AMS medication (Diamox) is available in Kaza.

🪪 Inner Line Permit — Spiti Valley

Foreign nationals require an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Spiti Valley and restricted areas near the Indo-Tibet border (Chitkul, Nako, Tabo, Kaza, Kibber). Indian nationals do not need an ILP for Spiti.

Our team assists foreign travellers in obtaining the ILP. It is issued at Recong Peo (Kinnaur) or Kaza (Spiti) district offices. Processing takes 1–2 hours.

🚂 Kinnaur Spiti Tour from Delhi

From Delhi, take an overnight Volvo bus or train to Chandigarh (4–5 hrs) or Shimla (10 hrs by Shatabdi + toy train). Our tour package can be customised to start pickup from Delhi as well — adding 1 day to the standard 8-day circuit. Delhi → Chandigarh → Narkanda → Kinnaur → Spiti → Manali → Delhi circuit is a popular 10-day itinerary.

📱 Connectivity & ATMs

Mobile network: BSNL works best across Kinnaur and Spiti. Airtel/Jio available in major towns (Recong Peo, Kaza). No connectivity at Chandertaal, Nako or high mountain passes.

ATMs: Available at Rampur and Recong Peo (Kinnaur) and Kaza (Spiti). Carry sufficient cash as ATMs are unreliable in remote areas. UPI works intermittently where internet is available.

🌡️ Best Time to Visit Spiti Valley

June–July: Snow melting, waterfalls, green meadows. Roads just opened. Best for adventure.
August–September: Peak season — monasteries, festivals (Kaza Monastery Festival), clearest skies. Busiest period.
October: Golden foliage, fewer crowds, cold nights. Roads close late October.
Winter (Dec–Mar): Shimla route only. Snow landscapes, frozen rivers, authentic village life.

Must-Visit Places on the Kinnaur Spiti Tour 2026

🌿 Chitkul — Last Village of India
Altitude 3,450 m. The last inhabited village before the Indo-Tibet border, on the banks of the Baspa River. Home to Mathi Goddess temple. One of the most photographed villages in Himachal Pradesh.
🏔️ Kalpa — Kinner Kailash Views
Altitude 2,960 m. Stunning sunrise views of the Kinner Kailash range (6,050 m). Visit Roghi Village rope bridge. Legend says Kalpa was Lord Shiva's winter abode.
🛕 Tabo Monastery — 1,000 Years Old
Founded in 996 AD, Tabo is dubbed the "Ajanta of the Himalayas" for its ancient murals and thangkas. One of the oldest continuously functioning Buddhist monasteries in the world. UNESCO tentative list site.
🔭 Langza, Komic & Hikkim
Langza (4,400 m) — fossil village with giant Buddha statue. Komic (4,587 m) — world's highest village with a motorable road. Hikkim (4,400 m) — world's highest post office. All within 30 km of Kaza.
🌊 Chandertaal Lake — Moon Lake
Altitude 4,300 m. Crescent-shaped glacial lake near Kunzum Pass, changing colours through the day. Camping near Chandertaal is a bucket-list Spiti experience. NGT regulations apply — only designated camp sites permitted.
🌉 Chicham Bridge — Asia's Highest
Altitude 4,150 m (13,596 ft). Asia's highest gorge bridge, connecting Kibber to Chicham village. Opened in 2017, this cable-stayed bridge was a 2-day horse trek before construction. A visual highlight of the Spiti circuit.
