The Manali to Atal Tunnel distance is about 29 km via Solang Valley (roughly 1 hour by taxi), and no permit is required for the Atal Tunnel or Sissu — the NGT permit applies only to Rohtang Pass.

Manali Taxi Union Rate List 2026 — How Manali Taxi Rates Actually Work
Travellers searching for a Manali taxi union rate list usually expect one printed government card, the way the Ladakh taxi union publishes one for Leh. Manali works differently. Taxis in Manali operate through the local taxi operators' union, and while the union sets reference fares for common routes, the fare a tourist is finally quoted at the taxi stand depends on the season, the daily Rohtang Pass NGT quota, weekend demand and, frankly, on how well you bargain. That is why two travellers can pay ₹3,000 and ₹7,000 for the same Solang Valley trip on the same day.
Travel Himalayas publishes a fixed rate list instead. Every fare on this page is a per-vehicle, per-trip price that already contains toll tax, state tax, parking, the Rohtang Pass NGT permit where applicable, and the driver's allowance including his food and stay on multi-day trips. We are a Manali-based, HP Government approved tour operator running since 2002 with union-registered Himachal-number vehicles and local drivers who have driven the Rohtang, Atal Tunnel and Manali–Leh roads for years — not a call-centre aggregator that sub-contracts your booking to whoever answers the phone.
Two things that decide your Manali taxi fare in 2026: (1) Season — peak rates apply roughly 15 April–10 July and again in the December–January snow season; off-season fares are lower, and you can switch the rate tables above between season and off-season rates. (2) Vehicle — Alto, Sedan/Dzire, Ertiga, Innova, Innova Crysta or a 12+1 Tempo Traveller; the rate is per vehicle, never per person.
