Jalori Pass: the road is narrow and steep with hairpins on both sides, and it can close after snow between December and March. In the monsoon (July–August) landslides are common across Himachal, so we do not run group departures then.
Choose your bike
The Himachal loop is mostly tarmac with steep hairpins on Jalori Pass. A Classic 350 is comfortable; a Himalayan handles the rough patches more easily.
| Bike | Engine | Rate | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Royal Enfield Classic 350 | 349 cc | ₹1,500 / day | Relaxed riding at an easy pace; comfortable on tarmac and the Himachal loop |
| Royal Enfield Classic 500 | 499 cc | ₹1,800 / day | More pulling power for the long highway days to Leh and Srinagar |
| Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 | 411 cc | ₹1,800 / day | Rough roads, water crossings and gravel: Zanskar, Spiti and the Changthang roads |
| Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | 452 cc | ₹2,500 / day | The best all-rounder for high passes and long days, with the most power and suspension travel |
| KTM 390 Duke | 373 cc | ₹1,800 / day | Experienced riders who want a light, sporty bike on good roads; less suited to rough stretches |
All bikes are serviced before each tour and come with a helmet. Tell us your riding experience and we will suggest the right bike.

Join a fixed departure
Ride with a group on a fixed date. Departures leave on the 1st, 10th, 18th and 27th of each month from March to June and September to November, outside the monsoon. Dates below are shown for the Himachal Grand Loop; the booking form shows dates for every tour. Ask us on WhatsApp for the group price.
Before you ride
What to bring
- Valid two-wheeler driving licence and a government photo ID
- Riding jacket, gloves, boots and a full-face helmet if you own one
- A rain suit: showers are common in the hills even outside the monsoon
- A warm layer for Jalori Pass, Narkanda and evenings in Shimla
- Sunscreen and sunglasses
- Some cash: ATMs are easy to find in towns, less so at Jibhi and Jalori
Good to know
- Fuel is easy to find on this loop; fill up before Jalori Pass at Banjar.
- Heavy vehicles are not allowed over Jalori Pass, and the road is single-lane in places. Ride slowly and sound the horn on blind bends.
- Shimla and Kasol are busy on weekends; we plan the night halts around that.
- Mobile signal is good in most towns, patchy around Jalori Pass and the Tirthan valley.
- Fuel, meals and entry fees are not included in the rates. Ask us what your quote includes.
Himachal bike tour: frequently asked questions
How many days do I need for a Himachal bike tour?
Four days covers the Parvati and Tirthan valleys and Jalori Pass from Manali. Seven days lets you add Narkanda, Shimla, McLeod Ganj and Bir. On custom dates you can add rest days or change the stops.
Is there a fixed departure price for the Himachal tour?
Group departures run on set dates in spring and autumn. Send us your preferred date on WhatsApp and we will share the per-person price. For custom dates, the costing table and booking form on this page give an instant estimate.
How much does the tour cost?
The cost depends on your dates, group size and the services you choose. Per-day rates: Royal Enfield Classic 350 ₹1,500; Classic 500, Himalayan 411 and KTM Duke 390 ₹1,800; Himalayan 450 ₹2,500; accommodation ₹1,750 per person; marshal ₹3,500 (₹2,000 plus ₹1,500 for the marshal's bike); mechanic ₹2,000; backup vehicle ₹6,000. Bike and accommodation are per person; marshal, mechanic and backup vehicle are shared by the group. The costing table and booking form on this page give an instant estimate.
What is the best time for a Himachal bike trip?
March to June and September to November. Avoid July and August, when monsoon landslides close roads. Jalori Pass is usually closed by snow from about December to March.
Is this tour good for first-time mountain riders?
Yes. The roads stay below about 3,100 m, so altitude is not a concern, and fuel, food and phone signal are easy to find. The Jalori Pass road is steep and narrow, so take it slowly.
Can I start from Chandigarh or Shimla?
Yes. Choose Chandigarh or Shimla as the bike pickup in the booking form and we will adjust the itinerary and quote.
Which bike should I choose?
Any bike works on this loop. The Classic 350 is comfortable on the long Shimla – McLeod Ganj day; the Himalayan handles the rough stretches near Jalori Pass more easily.
