About this Kullu Dussehra Package 3 Nights / 4 Days Package
Our Kullu Dussehra Package 3 Nights / 4 Days is planned around the famous Kullu Dussehra – the week-long festival that begins on Vijayadashami, when the rest of India has finished its Dussehra. Instead of burning Ravana effigies, over 200 village deities are carried in palanquins to Kullu to pay homage to Lord Raghunath, whose chariot is pulled by hand with sacred ropes. The Dhalpur ground fills with fair stalls, food tents and folk music – a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the Valley of the Gods.
Pickup and drop are at Manali Volvo Parking, with 3 nights in a Manali hotel, breakfast and dinner, and a private cab for every sightseeing day. Next Kullu Dussehra: from Vijayadashami, 9 October 2027 (about 7 days) – book early, as hotels in Manali and Kullu fill up fast during the festival.
Day-wise plan – Day 1: Arrival Manali – Local Sightseeing & Vashisht; Day 2: Kullu Dussehra Opening Ceremony & Naggar Tour; Day 3: Rohtang Pass (13,050 ft); Day 4: Departure – Drop at Manali Volvo Parking.
Travel Himalayas is an HP Govt. approved tour operator in Manali since 2002. See also our Manali taxi rates and booking procedure.

First the 500-year-old, pagoda-style Hadimba Devi Temple, set in a grove of towering deodar trees on a hillside above Manali, with animal horns of old sacrifices hanging from its verandah. Back towards Mall Road we visit two Buddhist monasteries – one built by Tibetan settlers in the early 1960s with old thangkas and a large Buddha, the other a newer monastery with an enormous gilded Buddha. Lunch is at the Club House on the banks of the Manalsu stream.
After a short rest at the hotel, in the late afternoon we drive 3 km up to the ancient village of Vashisht, with fine views of the upper Beas valley and the Pir Panjal peaks, for a refreshing dip in its hot sulphur springs. Relaxed evening and night at your hotel.
