Arrive at Manali Volvo Parking in the morning by the overnight Volvo from Delhi. Our driver meets you and transfers you to your hotel. Freshen up and rest. Check-in is 12 noon; early check-in depends on availability. After lunch, start the tour:
Visit the main sights of Manali town:
Four-tier pagoda wooden temple built in 1553, dedicated to Hidimba, wife of Bhima. Set in a tall deodar forest, with the Ghatotkach shrine nearby. Yak rides and photos in local Himachali dress.
Fun spot on the Manalsu stream with indoor games, river crossing and small amusement rides. Good for families, with a small market for woollens.
Colourful Gadhan Thekchhokling monastery built by Tibetan settlers, with a large Buddha statue, murals and prayer wheels. Tibetan market for handicrafts nearby.
Peaceful park of giant deodar trees on the bank of the Beas, opposite Mall Road. Small lake with boating in season.
Manali's main street for an evening walk, cafes, local food and shopping for shawls, woollens and dry fruits.

DAY 2Solang Valley, Atal Tunnel & Sissu / Khoksar

After breakfast, drive to the snow of Solang Valley and through the Atal Tunnel into the Lahaul valley:
Natural cold-water spring named after Pandit Nehru, who drank from it on his visits. First stop of the day.
Snow-covered slopes in winter with skiing, snow scooter, ropeway and snow play (extra cost). Snow dresses on rent here.
Opened in 2020, one of the world's longest highway tunnels above 10,000 ft. It is open in winter and takes you to Lahaul in about 10 minutes.
Village on the Chandra river with a frozen waterfall, snowfields and big snow peaks all around. The best snow point in winter.
First village in Lahaul on the Chandra river, deep in snow in winter. Visited when the road to Sissu is not open.

Drive along the left bank of the Beas river to Jagatsukh and Naggar, then down to Kullu, and back to Manali by the national highway:
Jagatsukh was the first capital of the Kullu kings. Its old stone Sandhya Gayatri temple has fine carvings.
Centuries-old shikhara-style stone temple of Lord Shiva, one of the oldest in the valley.
Built around 1460 by Raja Sidh Singh in Kath-Kuni style of stone and wood. Now a heritage hotel with the Jagti Patt temple and wide valley views.
Former home of Russian painter Nicholas Roerich, showing his famous Himalayan paintings in a garden setting.
Tandem paragliding flights over the Beas valley with trained pilots (extra cost, weather permitting).
White-water rafting on the Beas river with guides and safety gear (extra cost). Best from April to June and September–October.
Cave-style temple of Mata Vaishno Devi on the highway near Kullu town, visited by many devotees.

Why does this package go to Sissu and not Rohtang Pass?
Sissu is reached through the Atal Tunnel and stays open for most of the year, while Rohtang Pass needs a permit and is closed every Tuesday and from 1 December to 20 April. In heavy snow the tour goes up to where the vehicle can go, else a 4X4 vehicle can be hired at extra cost.
Which vehicle is best for my group?
Alto and Sedan seat up to 4 persons, Ertiga, Toyota Innova and Toyota Innova Crysta up to 6, and Tempo Traveller 12, 14, 17 or 26 seater for bigger groups. Children are counted as persons.
Is this package good for honeymoon and family trips?
