Clothing: During summer months light woolens are required in Leh. Spring & autumn are cold and woolens are necessary. In winter temperatures sometimes reach −10°C in Leh city and heavy woolens are required.
What to pack: Heavy woolens, sweaters and scarves (especially in winter); shoes for adventure activities; basic medicines like Vicks, Avomine, Metacin, Saridon, Diamox etc.; umbrella if travelling during December.
By Air: Leh domestic airport (Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport) is well connected to airports of all major cities in India.
By Train: There are no operational railway stations in Leh. Jammu is the nearest railway station, at a distance of 590 km, well connected to the Indian railways network.
By Bus: Leh is well connected to Manali, Srinagar, Jammu, Delhi and Chandigarh. You can take JKSRTC deluxe buses to travel to and from the city.
